Teeth Cleaning and Dental Checkups
Taking care of your smile starts with consistent habits and professional care. One of the best ways to protect your teeth and gums is by scheduling a checkup and cleaning every six months at our office.
During your visit, our hygienists and dentists spot buildup and early problem areas, thoroughly clean your teeth, and give you helpful guidance to maintain a healthy smile year-round.

Without consistent care, you may face:

- Higher risks for cardiovascular issues and other health concerns
- Gum infections and inflammation
What Should You Expect at Your First Checkup?
Our dental checkups and cleanings usually last about an hour, with a bit of extra time set aside for new patients. We take the time to understand each smile and personalize treatments to their health and goals.
- Dental & Medical History: We gather your health background to better understand any conditions that could affect treatment.
- Digital X-rays: X-rays help us complete a full exam. If you’ve had them taken in the past year, you can send them to our office.
- Oral Screening & Exam: We check for signs of oral cancer, gum disease, decay, and other concerns.
- Gum Evaluation & Cleaning: Using precise tools, our hygienists measure gum health, remove tartar, and clean your teeth carefully.
- Oral Care Guidance: Before you leave, we’ll review hygiene practices to keep your teeth in excellent shape.
What Happens During a Teeth Cleaning?
During your cleaning, the hygienist removes soft plaque and hardened tartar using professional instruments. Every surface of your teeth, including the spaces between and along your gumline, gets careful attention.
To finish, we polish with prophy paste. Its coarse texture removes remaining buildup, then smooths into a fine polish, leaving your teeth clean and shiny. We’ll also point out any areas that need extra care at home so you can brush and floss more effectively.
How Much Does a Teeth Cleaning Cost?
Most dental insurance plans cover routine cleanings because preventive care saves patients from costly and complex treatments later. Since budgets and coverage vary, we’re happy to review your options, explain costs upfront, and help you make the most of your insurance.
